New Summer Cocktails Are Here!

Our new Summer menu is here! And it’s brought a heap of new, delicious, and refreshing cocktails along with it!

We asked one of our talented Cocktail Ninja’s just how our new cocktail menu came about

How do you create a cocktail?

If I don’t already have a picture in my head of what I want to try to recreate, I start from scratch. I start by choosing the alcohol I want as the base! Think of your spirits e.g. . Vodka, rum, gin, whiskey, tequila. What do I feel like going with?

I then think of a liqueur for flavour and fun. The liquors are a lot more flavoursome and sweet so will take the harshness out of the drink that the base spirit brings (unless that’s what you’re going for). Lastly, it’s time to pick a mixer! What non-alcoholic ingredients would taste nice here? I like using either a juice, syrups or soft drink.

When I’ve got a rough idea of what I want the cocktail to taste like, I start trialling it out and have a taste test (the best part!). When trialling the cocktails start with less, for example, 15mls of vodka and 15mls of Strawberry DeKuyper. This way you can continue to add things in if it isn’t enough, rather than putting too much in and having to start from scratch. If it’s too sweet, add 15mls more of vodka; too strong? Add some more syrups!

What’s your favourite?

Paper Crane

The paper crane is fun with the finishing touch of origami! It’s our creative way of tying the cocktail in with Wah Bah’s and WWG’s theme of Asian fusion. With vodka, lychee liquor, cranberry and lime it’s easily a favourite for many.

Peach, Ginger and Lemon Mojito

Another favourite is the Peach, Ginger and Lemon Kombucha Mojito! To create this, we’ve swapped lime juice for lemon juice, and traded soda water for a peach, ginger and lemon Kombucha, and that’s how we got our refreshing and tasty twist on the classic Mojito.

How can I get one?

To get your hands on one of these exciting cocktails you can join us at Wah Bah, just follow the neon lights all the way down to the end of Cunningham Pier!
